TEACHER
As a practising artist and teacher, I wish to instil in my students a sense of curiosity and a love for lifelong learning. As visual art teachers, we are not only providing students with technical skills and knowledge but also with skills like critical thinking, problem-solving and creativity. We are challenged with doing this while operating within a framework that focuses heavily on exams. Imagination is needed to be able to balance both of these. In this section, I outline my approaches to teaching and how I plan to support and scaffold students in their journey as artists while also supporting their educational needs.

Preparation for teaching and learning is an ongoing process which necessitates adaptability to students needs, interests and abilities.
Successful assessment involves adaptability and the appropriate use of both formative and summative assessment practices.
Reflective practice is cyclical in nature and allows teachers to continuously improve and refine their methods for more effective teaching.
