Collaborative Painting and Ceramic Tiles

Exploring my Built School Environment

This unit of learning explored how our imediate built environment and architecture effect us. This was done through painting and the creation of ceramic tiles, responding to their school environment. Through walking tours and on-site documentation - using photography and sketching - students examined the visual language of worn surfaces and everyday structures. Inspired by the work of George Shaw, they developed personal representations of their surroundings and the personal experience associated with being in school.
